European Leaders Condemn US Move as ‘Coercion’
Officials from Europe such as Emmanuel Macron accused the US administration of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans targeted individuals who have been at the heart of campaigns to enact laws governing US-based technology firms.
“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led coordinated campaigns to coerce US companies to punish US perspectives they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
